How to UPGRADE your next Vacation - Pick one!

There is SO much thought, time, and attention to detail that goes into planning your next vacation.  You have dreamt of what it will look like to finally arrive at your destination - whether it is a new country, a Caribbean resort, a cruise, or to the most magical place on Earth...let me tell you the easiest way to upgrade your next trip.

Upgrade your reservations.

That's it. This is the easiest way to make your next trip better than what you have been dreaming.  This can mean a few different things, so let's run through them.

1. Book private transfers instead of shared.

Private transfers will get you from the airport to your resort faster and in a quieter environment. Your driver will likely meet you at baggage claim to assist you with your luggage and guide you to their car. Once in your car, your off directly to your resort. I really appreciate this option for my family. After going through an airport and being in an airplane full of other people, a quiet, private car is a much needed break.

2. Upgrade your room to club level/butler level/concierge/preferred club...whatever your destination offers.

Often resorts have many room options and making the decision can be overwhelming. I would encourage you to consider an upgrade to a club level, butler level, concierge level, preferred club…whatever the resort calls their upgraded room options. The price may look scary up front and you need to consider what is INCLUDED in that cost. Many times these upgrades include food at various times of day, drinks throughout the day, personalized service, assistance making on-site reservations and much more. During my stay at Beaches Turks and Caicos, our butler would set up our beach cabana or pool cabana each morning, bring us a cooler full of drinks each day, make our dinner reservations, walk us to dinner each night, bring us lunch…and much more.

3. Reserve a seat in business/first class on your flight.

This is especially important for international flights. Flight prices are very very unpredictable right now. What isn’t predictable is the time you will be on the flight based on your destination. A flight to Italy is a set amount of time. A flight to Florida is a set amount of time…and so on. If you have a flight that is overnight or longer than 6 hours, I urge you to consider upgrading to business or first class. You will earn perks such as early boarding, extra space in your seat, drinks and snacks, and flexibility with your ticket.

4. Plan for a split stay - on the second half of your trip, stay in a nicer resort room category.

Does the over the water bungalow look REALLY appealing….but the price not so much. Or what about a 2-bedroom suite versus a standard room? You CAN experience these types of upgraded rooms! Book a split stay - let your travel advisor plan this out for you. Book a few nights at the more affordable room type, then upgrade your last few nights. This is the perfect way to end the trip on a high note AND have the experience you’re truly dreaming of.

Which upgrade is the right fit for your next trip? Your answer may depend on your destination and WHO is traveling with you! Some of these options are more affordable with an adults only trip, while others will benefit you more with the whole family.
