Disney for the ‘Disney Adult’

The term ‘Disney Adult’ has been all over your instagram or facebook timeline this year.

Our current generation consists of adults that flock to Disney…and likely for nostalgia purposes. We likely experienced a vacation to Walt Disney World that left us with some truly magical memories…and now we want to provide those for our families! Somewhere in the middle of all of that, we turned into ‘Disney adults’ - we pretty much think about Disney most of the day, have Disney clothes, keep up with Disney news…and maybe…check wait times while we’re at home…whoops. We’re here to tell you that Disney is NOT JUST FOR KIDS!

So, what makes Disney a great destination for adults?

Dining!

There are hundreds of restaurants on Disney property, and many of them can set you up for a memorable experience. If you want a great date night, head over to California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort(of course with a reservation around 8pm so you can see fireworks!). If you want a fun and interactive experience - do a monorail crawl and enjoy appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks as you travel from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you REALLY want to go all out, enjoy a Chef’s Table experience at Victoria and Albert’s in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa OR go over to Takumi-Tei at EPCOT. You can even head over to Disney Springs and dine at restuarants from renowned chefs including Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, Jose Andres Jaleo, and Iron Chef Morimoto’s Morimoto Asia Restaurant. There are countless options to elevate your Disney trip with unique dining experiences.

New ‘Adult’ Attractions

…Sure if you go to Magic Kingdom you can ride Dumbo, Peter Pan, and It’s a Small World….OR you can strap into Tron Lightcycle Run (better at night, don’t forget to purchase your individual lightning lane!). At EPCOT you can experience the BEST ride I’ve ever been on - Guardian’s of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - and then stroll World Showcase. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can try to escape from the First Order on Rise of the Resistance…which is truly more of an experience than a ride..and follow it up with a visit to Oga’s Cantina. You won’t find attractions like that at any other theme park (…unless that theme park is called Disneyland or Shanghai Disneyland).

Pick the Resort Experience that matches YOU!

There are over 20 resorts to choose from at Walt Disney World. Each resort is unique and varying styles of resorts will offer you a different vacation experience! If you just want to sleep at your resort and spend all day at the parks, I’d recommend you stay at Pop Century. At Pop Century you’ll get a modernized room with ample space and access to the Disney Skyliner for easy access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. If you want a fancy feel without a fancy budget, Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Resort is the best choice for you. You have to try Toledo Restaurant at the top of the tower - the food is so good and the views are outstanding. If you plan to spend more time at the resort and want to enjoy all it has to offer…let’s look towards the deluxe resorts in the EPCOT or Magic Kingdom resort area, I’d love to share my favorites with you!

Disney Springs…shopping, dining, entertainment.

If you haven’t been to Disney for awhile, you may remember Downtown Disney…well now it is Disney Springs, and it is about 5x the size that you remember! It is no longer just The World of Disney, Rainforest Cafe, a Christmas Shop, and the Lego store….it is HUGE. Think of one of the largest outdoor malls you’ve ever been to….but where ALL the food is good and you have the best shops to choose from! I don’t get here often on my vacations, but when I do I can never decide where to eat because it is all SO GOOD!

Disney is definitely not just for kids. Kids only care about chicken nuggets, fries, and maybe a character when they’re dining (if they are aren’t terrified of a larger than life Pooh coming towards their table). When you travel on an adults only trip, you can experience 5-star dining right outside (or sometimes even inside) a theme park. And since you’re now and adult who pays for your own vacations…you can choose exactly where you stay and what’s important to you about your resort! If you want a super chill vibe, you need to be at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with a view of Cinderella’s Castle and the Electrical Water Pageant. Or maybe you prefer waking up to the giraffes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge….the beauty of this type of trip is we can match the right resort vibe to YOU and what you envision!

So go ahead and keep on stocking your closet with Disney clothes, checking the My Disney Experience app from your couch, and telling everyone you know the next new attraction that’s coming to Disney (even if they don’t care)… Disney adults just know how to have fun, in the most magical way.
