Here’s what you need to know!
Imagine yourself (and your family!) arriving to a luxurious resort, spending your days lounging by the pool or enjoying unique excursions, and rounding out your evenings with a gourmet meal – all of which you’ve already paid for!
All Inclusive resorts offer this type of experience – or really any experience you’re imagining.
Before you (and I) dive too far into exploring all the thousands of all inclusive resort options, we need to consider what type of experience YOU want.
Do you prefer the beach or the pool?
Do you want to experience the culture of your destination on excursions or relax at the spa?
Do you plan to travel with your whole family or adults only?
Do you enjoy nightlife or want a more quiet vibe?
Once you answer some of these important questions – I am here to guide you to the right resort for you.
If a swimmable beach is really high on your list, we will avoid many resorts in certain areas of Mexico, and look more towards a Caribbean destination.
If you want to experience culture on excursions at your destination, we want to make sure you are in a safe destination and they offer what you’re looking for (Hint: you can find most of the Mayan ruins in Mexico!).
Family friendly resorts are great for all ages, however, it is important to pay attention to what is offered for your little ones to do. Nearly every family friendly resort will offer a kids club, but they may have limited hours. Some resorts will also offer a water park or a larger variety of kids activities compared to others – so if this is important to you, we need to make sure it’s on your list!
Nickelodeon Hotel and Resorts in Riviera Maya has AQUA NICK – a very unique water park that offers 21 water slides, 2 lazy rivers, and an activity plus – plus an area just for toddlers.
Beaches Resorts in Jamaica or Turks and Caicos features Pirates Island Waterpark. Each resort has their own unique version of Pirates Island, but they all feature gigantic water slides, family friendly pools, lazy rivers, water cannons, and even swim up soda bars
On the flip side, an adults only resort is perfect for honeymoons, milestone celebrations, and romantic getaways. These resorts are 18+ and offer nightlife, gourmet dining, and intimate room options. Be aware that MANY adult only resorts will not have a private bathroom!
Sandals Resorts are known for their “5-star luxury inclusive” experience at so many destinations in the Caribbean. This is the ideal place for your honeymoon or romantic getaway, but they can require a further travel time.
Secrets and El Dorado Resorts are popular destinations in Mexico for their adult only all inclusive experience that is a little closer to home.
