The Disney Glow - Do you have it?

I always tell my clients "Walt Disney World is truly a magical place," and I really do mean it.  There is no other vacation destination quite like Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  Walt and Roy Disney, and all the Imagineers who built the Vacation Kingdom of the World, created a place full of nostalgia where everyone can be the 5-year-old version of themselves (or younger!).  Each time I visit Walt Disney World - I forget about everything else and am wrapped up in the "Disney Bubble."

You may have heard the term 'Disney Bubble' before; the Imagineers tried to provide you with everything you need on Walt Disney World Property once you arrive at your resort.  Each resort will have a shop with vacation essentials and Disney souvenirs, as well as multiple dining locations.  Disney transportation will take you just about anywhere on property you want to go - parks, other resorts, Disney Springs - so you don't need to worry.  You are totally immersed in the spirit of Walt Disney World, and it is so easy to get lost in your vacation and forget the outside world. This is what makes Walt Disney World SO MAGICAL - this feeling of having no worries other than what to order for your next meal or what attraction to experience next (Hakuna Matata, anyone?).

What makes this even better? If you've worked with a travel advisor, the hard work of planning is already done - so you already know WHERE your next dining reservation is and we have already recommended WHICH attraction you should reserve next with Genie+ - all you have to do is get yourself there and enjoy it.

I try to explain this feeling of being in the "Disney Bubble" to my clients - some of whom are wary if they will enjoy the vacation or if it is just for their kids - and I've have finally landed on it - The 'Disney Glow.'

What is the 'Disney Glow?'

I define the 'Disney Glow' as the all-encompassing magical-emotional-nostalgic-blissful feeling I have when I am in Walt Disney World.

How do you know if you have the 'Disney Glow?' Here is a list of common symptoms:

  1. You are giddy when you see Mickey Mouse for the first time.

  2. You find yourself rushing to ride all The Mountains during the nighttime hours - an especially magical time in the parks.

  3. You need to buy an extra bag to bring home all your souvenirs.

  4. You get 'allergies' during the fireworks (wink wink).

  5. You are planning your next trip on your flight home.

I first experienced the ‘Disney Glow’ when I was 8 years old, but I didn’t know it yet.  This was my second trip to Walt Disney World, my family stayed at the Polynesian Village Resort, and we had a group of 11 family members traveling together.  I created such fond (core, if you will) memories that transport me back every time I watch the fireworks, ride Splash Mountain, or stay at the Polynesian Village Resort. This explains how I ended up being a Disney Vacation Club member (x2!) at the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows and why I recommend this resort to my clients!

I got the ‘Disney Glow’ again in 2015 when my husband and I traveled to The Beach Club resort for our first wedding anniversary, and we have been ‘glowing’ ever since.

Walt Disney World has brought so much joy into my life.  I am so fulfilled when my clients return home from their vacation and try to describe the magic of their trip to me – how thankful they are for the time together as a family and the many memories they have made. I can tell they have the ‘Disney Glow’ as their share their experiences spending late nights in the Magic Kingdom, watching Grandma go down the waterslide, or their child’s reaction to their first ride on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  I know my clients will treasure these memories and are creating the next generation of Disney fans along the way.

I am so happy to create your magical vacation and can’t wait to start planning your next one!
